IL: You Are Now A Criminal

If Illinois Democrats have their way, several thousand law abiding people would become instant criminals. From CNS News:

A proposal to ban "assault weapons" is advancing in the Illinois Senate, much to the dismay of "freedom-loving Illinoisans," the Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA) warned on Tuesday.

Sponsored by Senate President Emil Jones, SB16 -- the Assault Weapons Ban Act of 2007 -- would prohibit the manufacture, sale and possession of hundreds of models of rifles and shotguns.

Second Amendment supporters say the weapons are widely used for hunting and target shooting, but gun control advocates view them as the weapons of choice for street gangs and other criminals.

The bill passed the Senate Public Health Committee on Tuesday, moving to the full Senate, where ISRA predicts it will prompt a "furious floor fight."

You can read the gory details of the bill HERE. Once again, it's mostly based on cosmetics or capacity. Even rifles with barrel shrouds are prohibited. Better you should burn your hand!

As Richard Pearson, spokesman for the Illinois State Rifle Association points out, nothing in the bill actually addresses the problem -- that would be the criminals. Typical of Democrats.

Well, I guess that would finally convince/force Springfield Armory and the rest of Illinois "Assault Weapons" manufacturers to pack up shop and move. We'll take 'em here in Washington State!

Illinois and places like it have only three ways to go. Slavery, which seems the most likely, mass exodus, leaving them depopulated which would be the most effective since much graft is based on federal largess which is based on population or armed resistance which is very unlikely, not apt to succeed unless extremely bloody and the feds stay out of it.

The only one unacceptable is slavery,but I fear that will be the winner.

I for one would like to welcome Springfield Armory and their fellow gun makers to the Tampa area. I would like to work for a gun manufacturer.

Words cannot accurately express how pissed off I am at these idiots, like I said before, in a fair world every single one of them that voted for this would be hung for treason.

Your comments are welcome. You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that.
