It just makes sense to take along, in those states that still honor the Bill of Rights, something that may save your life. Like the spare tire in the trunk of your car or the fire extinguisher in your home, you hope you never need it, and you probably won't, but if you do... "It just makes sense to take along, in those states that still honor the Bill of Rights, something that may save your life." Tennessee does not "honor" the Bill or Rights; it marginally recognizes the Second Amendment. Tennessee will grant us a four year permit to carry a handgun only after paying a non-refundable $115 fee; filing paperwork with TN Dept. of Safety, the County Sheriff, the TN Bureau of Investigation, and the FBI; being at least 21 years old; and providing proof of completion of a state-certified handgun training course (typical cost ~$90). I believe that this amount of hassle and cost is an infringement on the right to keep and bear arms. Posted by: Dr. T at March 7, 2007 11:41 PMthe comment input form disappears. Your comments are welcome. You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that. By Golly, you're reading an archived post.
