February 14, 2007NJ Bill: One Handgun Per MonthFor some reason, I always thought politicols in New Jersey blamed Pennsylvania's "lax" gun laws for the "flood" of illegal handguns in the state. Now, it seems they'd rather blame NJ's law abiding citizens. From Yahoo/AP:
Which just goes to show that, by their own admission and logic, a state law would do nothing. It also makes plain that what their real objective is is more federal gun control legislation. Naturally, the thought of simply keeping violent criminals in jail for the rest of their lives hasn't occurred to them. Posted by Jeff Soyer at February 14, 2007 08:17 AM Comments
We already have the federal cure. Criminals can't buy any guns. Maybe a federal cure for street gangs? A federal cure for drugs? A federal cure for incompetent mayors and governors is probably what we need. Jack. Posted by: Jack Lorenz at February 14, 2007 09:06 AMPretty soon, it's only going to be one smart gun a month for the folks in New Jersey. Posted by: Sebastian at February 14, 2007 11:02 AMThe Federal cure would be to tow New Jersey out to sea and sink it. Posted by: Yosemite Sam at February 14, 2007 11:32 AMBlech. Guess where I live? I love the state, hate the politics. Moving to PA makes the commute a BIT too far for comfort, though. Posted by: Allura at February 14, 2007 12:41 PMNJ? I have no use for those people. Gun rationing hasn't proved to "work", and has been repealed in at least one place, and yet here they are, foisting it upon their suckers. Posted by: geekWitha.45 at February 14, 2007 06:11 PMNo need to tow it out to sea, just wait on glow-ball warming. [sarc off] Wife's family has a place at the NJ shore, so I'd just as soon NJ not sink - or get towed away - for a few more years. What NJ needs is voters who don't have their heads up their butts. Lived in NJ most of my life; as Jeff has heard before, we're in Colorado now. And too many CA libs are moving in here, so the Dems now have control. My carry permit renews next year, and I'm not sure I'll be allowed to renew. A bill is in the works here to prohibit out of state carry permits. I have a Florida permit as it's good in more states than the CO permit. Damn! We're looking at Ohio or western PA... OldeForce Posted by: OldeForce at February 14, 2007 06:16 PM Another reasaon to be happy I now reside in PA instead of that political cesspool of NJ. Hey OldeForce. Look to north central PA, Tioga or Potter Co. Your far enough away from Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, and (*spit*) Philly. You'd be close enough to Corning and Elmira for entertainment. There are lots of small college towns (Lock Haven, Mansfield, Bloomsburg to name three). And there's state forests galore and even Alleganey National Forest. And you're close enough to the New Jersey shore that it would be just a five or six hour drive. Posted by: joated at February 14, 2007 09:05 PM

Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that. By Golly, you're reading an archived post.
