Ted Nugent Angers Some in TX

Actually, it sounds like a pretty cool performance but that's just me. From News 8 TV(TX):

AUSTIN, Texas -- Not everyone who attended Gov. Rick Perry's inaugural ball in Austin appreciated rocker Ted Nugent's performance.

Nugent, using machine guns as props, appeared onstage Tuesday evening wearing a cut-off T-shirt emblazoned with the Confederate flag.

Nugent shouted some remarks about non-English speakers that were offensive to some in the audience. But Perry spokesman Robert Black downplayed the incident, calling Nugent “a good friend of the governor's.''

Black said Perry put no restrictions on what Nugent would play at the black-tie ball. GOP strategist Royal Masset called Nugent “a horrible choice.''

Gary Bledsoe with the Texas NAACP says whenever someone sports the Confederate battle flag -- many Texans will be offended.

A Nugent spokeswoman says the hunting and gun-rights advocate wasn't available for comment -- because he was out hunting.

I dunno. What's the problem?

Tough shit, liberals. Jack.

Interestingly, Ted commented about this on his forum. No gun props were used and he made an extra special effort to be 'good' and not offend people.

Most of what they're complaining about appears to be based on his usual show, not necessarily the performance they're talking about.

Ah well, it may be fake but it's accurate, right?

I saw Nugent a few years back, and he threw out his usual show. The crowd went nuts, but the local pussy media was all over him. They made it sound like the audience was "stunned" and "shocked".

The only shocking thing was that, apparently, the local pussy media saw a different show.

Is it pure coincidence that today is Robert E. Lee's birthday?

I just voted for Nugent on my NRA directors ballet. I figure that the board needs one guy who is a little wild and crazy. :-)

Hey, he's as close to a perfect incarnation of Uncle Sam as one could hope to see (especially if one's a gun owner). Remove the hat and you just know Uncle Sam'd be right at home walkin' into the woods with his rifle or bow and his hair tied back in a ponytail, just like Uncle Ted.

And take a close look at the eyes on the I WANT YOU poster -- that fellow looks to me as the type who would be entirely comfortable rubbing some folks the wrong way. Just like Uncle Ted!

The problem is that he was in Austin. Many of us would like to dig it up and drop it somewhere in California where it belongs.

Apparently, his comments were so awful that none of the local media could bring themselves to publish, you know, like, actual quotes of what he is reported to have said, that was so awful. So it must have been awful, because all the media said so. Without, you know, actually reporting what he supposedly said.

Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that.
