Guns on eBay

Never happen. They don't allow it. For that, go to GunBroker.com. However, eBay has lots of Google ads all over the place and while writing the previous post about guns and Virginia Tech, I spotted one of eBay/Google's "auto" ads that fill in whatever you were searching for. Here's a screen shot:

Well, I thought it was kinda funny... Could I have them busted for false advertising?

I've found that their keyword advertising can be stupid to the point of hilarity. Like when it says they have the best selection of "dlink router ntp" or something similar. :-)

One of the sites I hang out out - http://www.missouricarry.com - added Google ads in the forums (but only for the first few refreshes). Generally they do a pretty good job of showing something relevant but I still get a smile out of the one for Grease Guns that pops up periodically.

One of my sons-in-law makes custom pistol holsters in his spare time, and has been selling them on eBay.

Until someone there noticed that his picture examples of his work included actual "evile gunz". Shutdown on the spot.

The solution was to redo the pictures, using blue plastic training models instead of the original firearms.

That's cool, apparently.

Weird bunch.

I saw a blogger once who had googled information on depleted uranium...and saw google ads for buying uranium on e-Bay.

Funny stuff.

Note: Comments close down on posts after seven days and then
the comment input form disappears.

Your comments are welcome. You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that.
