Sheryl Crow Sucks!

I'm out the door heading to work but had to mention... I'm watching Sheryl Crow performing live on NBC's Today Show and I gotta tell ya, she has got to be the worst singer I've ever heard. She can't carry a tune, has a lousy, thin voice, and couldn't hit half the notes on-key. What the hell is the big deal about her?

Guess we now know how much "doctoring" goes on with her studio recordings!

Only think I could ever figure out was that she was pretty hot in the slutty spoiled daddy's little rich girl who drank too much and was looking to get it on at the beach house party sort of way.

Beyond that, she has no appeal

I saw that show. She was little better in the second song but as you said was awful in the first. Off-key the whole time. How do you doctor a studio recording? she sounds much better in those.

The studio helps greatly for alot of them. Amazing how bad some of them sound in real life. My question is how do they ever get a record contract in the first place.

RobertC: The studio technican is constantly monitoring and adjusting sound levels so he helps them up or down as needed. He can really help those off-key notes.

They've got digital vocal pitch doctoring devices that can center the pitch practically in real time, I believe...if not adjusted properly they can make you sing like a synthesizer, but a lot of performers who should use them live, don't. Properly set, it can make a tone deaf drunk sound like they can almost actually sing!

She's also coming off some heavy chemotherapy for breast cancer, so she probably just feels lucky to have a voice at all.

Posted by: Patti at July 12, 2006 01:25 PM

The chemo probably has a lot to do with it; I've known several people who have gone through it, and it does do bad things to the vocal cords sometimes.

Dude, you let the cat out of the bag.
America loves her because she has a thin off key voice. She can't sing any better than say Willie, Kris (one key,sub-sonic),Tom Petty. Come to think of it; what's a voice got to do with it? However I don't aprec appres apr care for her either.
Yeah, yeah, yeah,if I could write, I'd have a blog like Jeff.

No chemotherapy. Radiation therapy. There is a huge difference.

Just from reading the description of her ability, you could have been talking about Tyler Hicks.

And America voted him an Idol?

If it MAKES you happyyyyeeeeee, it can't be that baaaaa-aaaaa-ad -- unless, of course, it's a gun. Especially if it's sold at Wal-Mart.

But all I wanna do, is have some fun.
Shooting my Serbu, and also a lever gun.
