June 27, 2006Sad News From the BlogosphereOne of the more unusual -- and I mean that in a good way -- bloggers, Rob Smith, better known as Acidman -- Best known as Gut Rumbles has passed away. A good blogger and email friend, brutally honest about his own life, warts and all, he has died of unknown causes. There will be a memorial service for him locally in Georgia. Maybe something nice can be done over the web as well. Rob was haunted by many demons, some physical and some caused by others in his life. He faced them as best as any of us could have. The difference is that he never shied from sharing them with us. That's what made many of his posts so engaging and vivid. I hope he's resting in peace, guitar in hand, singing and making others laugh in the next stage of life. The blogosphere has lost an iconoclastic voice. If you're not familiar with him, head over to his blog and dip into some of the archives. There's a lot of good reading, soul searching, and intense biography there. I'll miss him a lot. Dammit. You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that. By Golly, you're reading an archived post.
