More Sick Justice in England

Let's see, real criminals are coddled by England's justice system and then there's this crap:

A mum-of-two who agreed to look after a gun for an ex-boyfriend has been jailed for five years.

[...]

Julius Capon, prosecuting, said police stopped Edwards on January 13 when she was driving home from taking her two children to school.

He added: "They explained that they had information that she had a gun. She immediately volunteered that she had been asked to look after a weapon and she gave a name."

Officers went to her then home in Silverleigh Road, Thornton Heath, and she took them to an upstairs bedroom.

Mr Capon told the hearing: "She pointed out a roll of green cloth, under which was a carrier bag containing a semi-automatic handgun wrapped in a white bandanna."

It was in a poor state of repair, could not have been fired and no ammunition was discovered.

James Cartwright, defending, said an expert had described the gun as unusable.

"For the first time in the history of English law a minimum sentence has been introduced and judges should look very closely at any circumstances which could be exceptional."

Judge Stow told Edwards, who admitted a charge of possession of the blank firing pisto: "The gun was not owned by you and was supplied to you by others who asked you to store it for them. It was in a poor state, with missing parts.

"You are not inherently a criminal person. You have been completely frank with the police right from the start and you pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity, but I have come to the conclusion that none of these features either collectively or singly constitute exceptional circumstances."

Judge Stow ought to be hanged. We have a woman who really did nothing wrong except store a broken gun for a boyfriend -- poor judgement if you will. She complies with cops who somehow learned about it. She has no criminal record. And now her kids will be without her for five years.

This is the same diseased nation where a farmer, Tony Martin, was sentenced to life in prison for defending himself from mutants and where the surviving mutant did less than two years in prison despite having 30 prior convictions! From three years ago:

This case started (in 1999) when Tony Martin, a farmer in Great Britain used a shotgun (apparently unlicensed) to kill one of two burglars invading his home. The other, Brendon Fearon was shot in the leg. This, in sick twisted English law is a no-no. He was sentenced to life in prison for murder. Then, through various legal maneuvers by his lawyer, got the charges reduced last year to manslaughter. He has one more year to serve on his (reduced to five years) sentence. That's still obscene. We all shake our heads here in America (except in N.Y. and California) but this is how low the law has degenerated in England.

By the way, the surviving mutant, Fearon, only served 18 months for his part in the burglary. This despite the fact that he had 30 (thirty) prior convictions. He was then released but is now back in prison doing another 18 month stretch, this time for drug-dealing.

Now Fearon is suing the victim-farmer Martin for 15,000 pounds for damages received during the commission of the crime. And he's now receiving free legal aid to pursue this suit.

The judge said that to deny Fearon, who has more than 30 convictions, the right to his claim could contravene his rights under Section 6 of the Human Rights Convention.

What a fucked-up country. Thank God for the American Revolution!

It sickens me to say this, but, that is what is left of the country where I was born.

Please, other guys who visit Alphecca, Please don't get bored with stories of the shit that happens in that stinking little third world dictatorship.

Why not?

Cos it shows the world just how dangerous that slippery slope is.

a clever and manipulative person can make every step of the way sound reasonable and even desirable, fuck me (no, don't, I'm an ugly old git), even inviting!

This is what happens, the first prosecution under the original 1921 firearms act was a church of england vicar, not the bolshevik revolutionaries it was intended for

here, the minimum sentence is being used on a mother who had stored a broken toy gun (yes, a TOY),

the supposedly reasonable law is not being used to chase the drugs gangs with all their kit, no they're much too frightening.

This brings me to the nature of police and government.

Anyone who has lived in a dictatorship will know that the true role of the police is to extract bribes, fines and blowjobs from the population, to bully, intimidate and rape, and to make sure that criminals (the ones who pay bribes) can carry on their business un-molested by the rest of us.

The true nature of government is to extract as much money and as many business oportunities for themselves and their famillies and cronies as possible, and to ensure that the population is as cowed, poor and illiterate, and as many of them working at harrassing their fellow citizens as possible, cos that way the govt aint goin to be hassled.

our job is therefore to be as in the govt's face as we can get, to keep it where it belongs, that is small and under our control

remember, some of the worlds richest psychopaths are the leaders of very poor countries....

If you're still going to get 5 years for cooperating with the cops then why bother. I suspect that few will in the near future.

And too think, of all those loyal young men that gave their lives to fight for a just England to have such a barbaric law that punishes decent people over a broken gun. They didn't know it at the time, but they got the NAZI's anyway. SIG HEIL Tony Blair!!!!!!!

Well, the British public are getting EXACTLY what they deserve. Let us not forget, Britain is a democracy, not a dictatorship. They have voted for liberal politicians, and now they are getting exactly what they asked for.

As an American, I'm grateful that the British had the guts to take down Saddam Hussein, who broke a cease fire agreement, did not cooperate with weapons inspectors, ignored security council resolutions, etc etc... But besides that, Britain and the rest of europe are in the middle of repeating their historical mistakes. Sweeden is the best example. If european countries ever have civil wars because of all the muslim immigrants they let in, America won't be able to save them a third time.

But don't worry, western civilization will live on in America, where we still have the guts to take down goverments that deserve it. Afghanistan - done, Iraq - done, Iran - next, North Korea - last on the list.

V for Vendetta here we come........

Here we'd've only locked her up for a mandatory five years if she'd been holding drugs instead of the gun.

"Britain is a democracy not a dictatorship"

I no longer believe that this is the case, several key ingredients for the functioning of a normal democracy are now missing:

The Press is no longer free, it is in the hands of Murdoch, who's arse tony blair is crawling up.

The most popular murdoch paper, and the one that appears to swing elections is the "Sun", (tits on page 3 and written for an average reading age of a 9 year old child) it endorses blair.

The BBC is dependent on the state for the renewal of its funding and is cowed by blair, following the iraqi WMD dossier scandal

Freedom of speech no longer exists. I cannot for example, legally praise the American or irish or Itallian wars of indepenance (i'd be supporting terrorism), I cannot stand up at a political meeting and say "that is untrue" as I would be protesting without permission.

Tying freedom of speech, the bbc and the sun news paper all together, much of the population is now so poorly educated and so poorly informed that it is incapable of understanding the condition it is heading into.

Blair has further strengthened his party's grip on power by massively expanding the numbers who work for the state, they are not going to vote for radical liposuction to be performed on the fat arse end of the government,

in a phrase: "it's a dictatorship"

Aussies need to read this and worry, while they still have time.

I'd better add about the British Stazi
Take a quick visit to www.rsf.org and take a look at the report about internet censorship in britain.

My ISP must keep a record of my internet use, which sites I've visited, what posts I've made etc, and must keep it for 12months for the govt to inspect

My mobile phone provider must record my conversations and keep them for a year, for the govt.

if I am arrested (perhaps I refused to suck a cop's dick) my DNA goes on a database, if a match comes up at a crime scene, it's up to me to prove innocence.

Blair's new political police has a brief to follow me anywhere, search anything (without warrant)and owes it's alliegence to Blair, not the people and not the head of state.

Some democracy eh!

Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that.
