Send your kids to Holy Bible Gun Camp. Heh.

I await the response from your readers to see if they are as, um, rational as I hope they are.

$18,000 for a gun camp?

Posted by: ben at May 8, 2006 11:41 AM

OK, now I've actually tried to read part of that. Now they've taken something that could have been a good thing and turned it into an abomination. What's all the crap about sissy boys and nancy boys???

A fun camp about God and guns would be just fine, but this is some sort of bizzaro red-neck sounding crap.

Hmm... You must be kidding? Satire anyone?
I don't detect irony in your post, other wise I'd know that you got the joke.

Posted by: Roger Thompson at May 8, 2006 02:04 PM

Argh! I didn't get the satire. :p

Posted by: ben at May 8, 2006 02:16 PM

Come on... I figured everyone would know. Heck, I even included a link to a previous post of mine about the Landover Baptist site...

Posted by: Jeff Soyer at May 8, 2006 03:06 PM

My parents were Baptists, but not that kind!! Damn that would have been fun, being a missionary-kid was similar but without the guns and sissy-boy rhetoric, it was rhetoric of another kind - I would have liked a gun back then...

It was satire? I'm so disappointed...

Posted by: Ken Summers at May 9, 2006 10:02 PM

Even as a Pagan it took me about 2 minutes to figure out that the "Landover Baptist Church" was a none too gentle satire the first time i happened across it. I haven't paid much attention to it since then, it's a shade too heavy handed to be really funny.

Your comments are welcome. You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that.
