Menino & Bloomberg on Gun Control

Wow! They learned a lot at yesterday's "national summit" on illegal guns -- Bloomberg and 15 Democratic mayors and someone from the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence. From the Boston Globe:

Mayor Thomas M. Menino of Boston joined 14 other big-city mayors at a gun summit yesterday, all pledging to create regional intelligence databases to track illegal guns, launch a website to share information and antiviolence strategies, and put together a plan to lobby officials in Washington for stricter gun laws.

[...]

''Gun violence is a national problem that needs a national response," Menino said. ''If the White House isn't going to do it and Congress isn't going to do it, the mayors have to do it."

Gosh! Watch out for those mayors doing it.

You're having too much fun, man.

That's so retarded, and I'm sorry to insult retarded people! How can they create "databases to track illegal guns," when they are by definition illegal, unknown, and off the books? What will they use as identifiers? Fuzzy pictures from the ATM or liquor-store camera of a "thing" in a guy's hand? They're going to waste a huge pile of money chasing phantoms.

They know exactly what they are doing, even if they won't admit it.

Criminals are merely a hazard ... when they get to thick hire more guards, or send the police out to kill a few.

Peasants with firearms are different ... they can actually kill the ruling class when they get angry.

All of this "gun control" is really peasant control. Don't be fooled by the crap coming out of their mouths ... it ain't about criminals.

But, but, but .... was the person from the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence a Mayor?

Of course not, that was a trick question.

Posted by: BruceR at April 26, 2006 01:24 PM

Evidently the mayors in question are unfamiliar with this "Constitution" thing, or the idea that there are powers that mayors, in fact, lack.

I can help the mayors with new gun laws. Only one needed: "It shall be illegal to commit a crime using a firearm or any other weapon". What more is needed? Jack

Your comments are welcome. You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that.
