April 19, 2006NYC Mayor Michael BlowhardHey, he's throwing a party:
No doubt some of his brilliant past strategies will resurface: 1) Suing gun stores across the country that legally sell guns. 2) Reviving the AWB. 3) Blaming other states for NYC (and Boston) gun crime and lobbying the governors of other states to enact the same gun-lack-of-rights that New York City has. 4) Refusing (or making it damn near impossible) for law abiding citizens to obtain a CCW permit to protect themselves. Did I leave anything out? Oh yeah, 5) Banning all guns! And let me guess, what's one solution that won't be discussed? 1) Blaming the fucking criminals! By the way, there are about a zillion towns and cities in the United States and he could only attract a dozen mayors to his "national summit"? That pretty much shows how irrelevant he and his ideas are. More background here and here. Remember this?

Does anyone remember the big "car summit" we had here in Boston last year as the state legislature was looking to crack down on drunk driving? Yeah, me neither. Posted by: Bruce at April 19, 2006 08:54 AMAll mumbles wants to do is to get into the spotlite by sucking up to Bloomberg. That way, if they don't accomplish anything (which they won't) he will have someone/something else to blame for his own inability to control crime in Boston. Actually, who cares? The residents who vote keep these anti-freedom pols in office. They are getting what they deserve. Jack Posted by: Jack Lorenz at April 19, 2006 09:09 AMBloomberg's sidekick is Ed Grimley? Who knew? Posted by: Ken Summers at April 19, 2006 10:11 AM'discuss strategies for fighting illegal guns' What, exactly, is an illegal gun? Why would you want to fight one? How, exactly, would you go about conducting a fight against an inanimate object? Now, if they want to fight _criminals_ who illegally posses a firearm, I'm in! To the best of my knowledge, no gun has ever done anything illegal without some idiot's hand wrapped around it. If you want to solve a problem, you have to start by understanding what the problem is. By God, I'm glad I live in the heartland. Posted by: Chris at April 19, 2006 10:20 AMOf course he managed to attract my idiot mayor from Seattle :P Posted by: ben at April 19, 2006 12:28 PMBen -- You have my sympathy, but welcome to the group. Jack Posted by: Jack Lorenz at April 19, 2006 12:38 PMAnd to think we thought all the TORIES left America in the 1780's. Mayor Blooming-idiot! A big meeting of Commie Mayors. It's good to know your enemies. Remember the Virginia state Motto! It always rings true. Posted by: ranger Nick at April 19, 2006 01:00 PMWow, and he links my old blog over on his :D Posted by: Alan Kellogg at April 19, 2006 04:59 PMOnce they all get inside that place for their meeting, wouldn't it make sense for someone to brick all the doors and windows shut from the outside, and give their respective states some relief? Posted by: BobG at April 19, 2006 05:26 PMI live near Gracie Mansion actually...perhaps if the weather is nice out, I'll go on a walk and pay this summit a visit... Is there a protest to the summit going on? Posted by: jaws at April 19, 2006 07:24 PMthe comment input form disappears. Your comments are welcome.
