Around Town...

Am I missing the boat by not moving to Tennessee? Seems like there are more gun nuts there than almost anywhere else. Ninth Stage moved there to excape California gun control laws. Well, at least he's not some Damn Yankee! Maybe I'd better stay away...

There's a shotgun aboard the International Space Station? Michael Bane says yes! Incidentally, the Chinese astronaut had a pistol with him in case he landed somewhere hostile, too.

So, will Tom Wright have to verify all his commenters if the asinine law requiring blog commenters be identified becomes law?

It still astonishes me that some lefty liberal "feminists" can't bring themselves to criticize Islamic culture. Zendo Deb explains why...

"How to survive a gunfight?" Xavier says it's no joke.

We're just quite far ahead of the curve as to gunbloggers :)

I think Jerry Garcia summed up my feelings

Tennessee, Tennessee
Ain't no place I'd rather be
Baby won't you carry me
Back to Tennessee

I ought ot mention my desire would be for East Tennessee.

I just love Chattanooga. Nashvegas is a great, fun town. Knoxvegas is alright but it desperatly needs a dash of something. The potential is there, maybe some revised land use plans could help improve it and revitalize the downtown.

However, I can't stand the Memphis Mafia. That far western side of the state is really like a different country altogether (too much Mississippi for me).

Jeff, the old man in my story would talk about most of our shootong buddies from the north with high praise, of course he'd add with a sense of wonder "and he's a northener too".

I should have made it clear that the "damn yankees" are the folks who choose to come here and then want to change everything.

You'd be a great guy to have here. "And he's a northener too". You'd be the exception who proves the rule.

We have the same problem in Arizona. People move here who bitch about the horseflies, then force people to give up their horses. Why they simply cannot move to a neighborhood in which there are no horses (and there are an ever-increasing number of them), I don't understand.

Guns and horses go together. Forgive an old Arizonan, but that's the truth. My idea of a fantastic time is being out in the desert, astride a good horse and firing off my .357 magnum at any available game. Would I trust John Wayne or John Kerry to look out for what's best for me? Don't make me laugh!

The next time you go out plinkin', remember what a great country we live in.

the comment input form disappears.

Your comments are welcome. You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that.
