Three Quick Things

First, as I write this it is 58 degrees outside. My windows are open. It's just plain weird. By Saturday our "high" is supposed to be 10 degrees.

Second, based on Hosting Matters statistics for the first couple years plus (since I installed SiteMeter in December of 2004) current site stats, sometime in the next week I'll have my millionth visitor. Totally cool!

Lastly, Colony: Alchibah is taking shape so read this post carefully and if you'd like to take part in a sci-fi literary experiment on the web then email me. I've got about 12 folks signed up and I need about 5 or so more colonists. Email me with your interest in the project at: historian -at- alchibah -dot- com.

You'll have fun and get to create a new government on a planet way-out in space, Colony: Alchibah.

Update: We've got 16 folks on board now for Colony: Alchibah. I would like 5 more. If interested, PLEASE send an email to:

historian -at- alchibah -dot- com

as it's tough to track down your email address from comments (where your URL is usually what shows in the "mouse over". Thanks! Also, I can then add you to the private mail list for colonists where you will help make many initial decisions about the set up of this adventure.

Lastly, still looking for an illustrator, someone who can do a sketch or two for each chapter. If you are so talented and inclined...

I've been contemplating flipping the switch on my thermostat from "Heat" to "Cool." It's 80 frickin' degrees here right now and it's supposed to be the same tomorrow, with an overnight low of 59.

We may get a real dose of winter (or what passes for it around here) on Friday.

I would love to be a colonist for this project! I am a fan of the Ayn Rynd/Terry Goodkind/ Bill Whittle school of thought. Please let me join! I read this blog daily.

Note: Comments close down on posts after seven days and then
the comment input form disappears.

Your comments are welcome. You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that.
