December 31, 2005New Years ResolutionParanoid I am because I think that (unfortunately) Democrats will make big gains in the House and Senate in the 2006 elections. If that happens, we could see a new AWB in 2007. Therefore, my goal in 2006 is to obtain as many cool guns as I can (such as a hi-cap .223) that could wind up being banned. Also, plenty of hi-cap clips for what I have and what I will have. Lastly, assuming I can hold on to the BFG-50 for awhile, tons of surplus .50 BMG in case liberal hysteria bans that, too. And if I'm wrong about the politics, what the hell: I'll have a bunch of spiffy new range toys to play with! My second New Years resolution is to encourage more of you who are trapped in anti-Constitution states such as MA and NJ to move to the light of NH or VT. There are plenty of jobs available. Indeed, the area I live in has never had higher than 2% unemployment because Dartmouth College and the massive (almost 5000 employees) Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center provide ready, good paying jobs for almost anyone who wants to work. Wouldn't it be nice to own and buy and carry whatever the hell you want, when you want, without all sorts of hoops to jump through? Not to mention very low crime and if you're sick of traffic, consider that there's so little of it here that none of the local radio stations offer traffic reports. Most folks don't bother locking their doors or even their cars. The town I live in hasn't seen a break-in or car stolen in ten years. Come to the light, Bruce! Come back to the light, Countertop. And all you others! When I was thinking of moving here, my cousin made a very strong argument. He said, you can live for money or you can live for environment. I chose environment. I've never looked back and NEVER regretted it. Happy New Years, everybody! Comments
If there were one available mainframe job up there, I would move. I have looked, and there are none. I can't even find some that I could try to low-ball my way into. Mainframe IT just does not seem to exist north of Mass. I just saw an RPG programming gig in the 40k region the other day here in PA (assuming mainframe app) which is decent considering cost of living...and 2A issues are almost non-existent. Want to buy Class III (full-auto, suppressor, AOW) or high-cap anything?? Not a prob here...just have a clean record. Posted by: Gregory Markle at January 1, 2006 02:41 AMIt's just too fricking cold too much of the year in NE. Otherwise, maybe. Great stuff, I will surely be back Posted by: Marianne at January 1, 2006 07:51 AMHeh, I escaped from NJ 2yrs ago. Only got as far as CT, but considering the surrounding states, this is like a little outpost of liberty for me! the comment input form disappears. Your comments are welcome. You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that. By Golly, you're reading an archived post.
