Now Jamaica Blames Guns on US...

It's bad enough that Canada is trying to blame it's gun crime woes on the US (because it must be our fault they can't clean the gangs off the streets) but now piss-in-pot Jamaica is jumping on the bandwagon:

...In Trench Town, Arnett Gardens, Olympic Gardens, Jacques Road, Spanish Town and many other inner-city communities across Jamaica, hundreds of young lives are snuffed out each year with guns manufactured in and obtained on the streets of the United States. This represents a wanton waste of human talent that could be beneficial to our country.

Many of these guns are in the hands of gangs which exist for the protection of narcotics for which Jamaica is a trans-shipment point to the United States from South America. US demand for drugs is, in part, Jamaica's pain.

The writer thinks the US should pay more attention to "shipments" to Jamaica. Sorry, we're too busy attending to shipments FROM Jamaica. Perhaps Jamaica could pay more attention to their gang problem. And -- isn't there a body of water in between the US and Jamaica? Maybe they're being smuggled in inner-tubes...

Is this the next big push for gun control? What with the United Nations demanding that US citizens surrender their Second Amendment, and now Canada and Jamaica demanding the same, perhaps (and especially if the "one world now" crowd has their way and gets into office) we'll start losing our rights because of the whines of other nations.

Well, the Canadians make the numbers up.

Are we to believe the Jamaican killers love America so much they ONLY use US-MADE guns, and that no one has been killed with, oh let's see, Brazilian, Czeck, Swiss, Austrian, etc. guns???

Damn Americans are to blame again, and not anyone else, eh?

Yah, I am sure those Jamaicans will hop right over Cuba to get guns in the US when they can probably buy AK's from Fidel for $10 each. Or maybe the open weapons markets of Columbia and Central America, all of which are closer to them in travel distance, since they need to swing around Cuba to get here.

This is just an example of the market always winning. In this case, both ways. Small pieces of hand held machinery get into an island nation regardless of a ban, and small packages of an herb get out of an island nation, regardless of a ban.

Drug-war, gun-war, all the same thing.

Here's a site dedicated to the UN's attempt to disarm the world: http://www.iansasucks.com/
(hint, as you can tell by the name, they're not in favor of it).

The gentleman who's behind it is also behind the very successful http://www.missouricarry.com site and forums where many of the pro-gun types in Missouri hang out.

I am wondering if it really is a semi-organized push. Maybe the VPC is trying for a different direction in order to leverage the issue in their favor. I must admit that the tactic of saying we should increase gun control because our guns are getting into other countries is somewhat weak, IMHO. I mean, we get guns from overseas, as well. Besides the domestic stuff, I have guns from Yugoslavia, Russia, and even China. It is also easy to point out that gang violence is responsible for an overwhelming portion of gun violence, with drug related killings taking up much of the remainder. I would really like to see what the statitistics are for the number of homicides minus justifiable circumstances, lawful intervention, minus gangs and minus drug related. The reason why these homicides should be discounted is because they are instances where the "victim" was a goblin.

Your comments are welcome. You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that.
