December 16, 2005Shakin' Things Up In HeavenVermont politics and the Vermont blogosphere lost a true original this past week with the death of Pat Hejny. While I had corresponded with her for a couple years, I only just had the pleasure of meeting her in person last month at the Vermont Blogger Meet. She also ran as an independent for VT Governor the past two elections. This picture by Morgan W. Brown shows us together:
She was always laughing and smiling and one of the sharpest people I knew. We might not always have agreed politically but she was a supporter of the Second Amendment and a reasoned thinker. This was her blog. Morgan has more on her here. She suffered a stroke a couple weeks ago and passed away on Tuesday. Her funeral will be tomorrow and while I have to work, I will definitely pause to remember her in my warmest thoughts. Posted by Jeff Soyer at December 16, 2005 04:13 PM Comments
Sincerest condolences, Jeff. Posted by: Ken Summers at December 19, 2005 08:57 AMThis week's Vermont Public Radio (VPR) VT Edition show, aired weekly on Wednesday's during the noon hour, will include a remembrance of Pat. For those who cannot catch it live either via radio or streaming online feed, the show is also available via archived podcast as well. For more information, visit here. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that. By Golly, you're reading an archived post.
