November 22, 2005Cooling CoolThat title probably makes no sense. One of the nifty things about living here are the dramatic temperature swings we get. It's been raining all day and the thermometer has been falling. A few minutes ago, as I was doing my Weekly Check radio segment with Cam Edwards I glanced out the window next to me. Just at that moment the temperature must have cooled enough because right in front of my eyes the rain -- as it was falling -- suddenly turned to snow in mid-air. It was like a special effect from a Hollywood movie. I never tire of this place. [We'll check back with you, Jeff, during one of those two-week stretches of minus 20 degree weather in January -- Editor] Comments
The thing I miss most (well, one of the things) is the sheer beauty of those two week 20 below stretches. The absolutly crisp clear air, the billions of stars, the refreshing warmth of the sun on your face mixed with the tingling heat of the bitter cold, not to mention the trees popping and exploding all night long. Nothing like it in the world. I've GOT TO GET BACK up this winter. Posted by: countertop at November 22, 2005 06:08 PMFORGET that... I go north and visit family in July. You know, when its warm. If I never see snow again, that will be OK by me. Posted by: Zendo Deb at November 22, 2005 06:28 PMthe comment input form disappears. Your comments are welcome. You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that. By Golly, you're reading an archived post.
