Around Town...

I plan to be really lazy today. I'm off and it's going to be a nice day out, maybe one of the last warm ones (predicted high in the 50's). Also, later I'm going for my yearly flu shot. I've gotten one every year since '85 except for last year when it wasn't available. I always wind up feeling a bit crappy for about 24 hours but that's still preferable to feeling like all hell for two weeks with the flu itself.

Anyway, for your reading pleasure:

Zendo Deb at TFS Magnum reinforces what I've said so many times about minorities being the first ones that should embrace the Second Amendment and about having to wait for the cops to show up. She reports on a pair of lesbians that got the crap kicked out of them and then had to wait 1 1/2 hours for the cops and ambulance to show up.

Uh Oh, Joe Huffman wants to attract the Google crowd. Heh. Go offer your suggestions. By the way, some of the posts here that have drawn the most responses to search queries include Muscle Men and Friday Sex Doll Blogging. Heh again. Boy are they disappointed...

James at Hell in a Handbasket has further thoughts on the Vermont liberal woman who attended the Gun Rights Conference in Los Angeles (see my post here).

Fortunately, everything worked out all right in the end so I can say that when Jim Roth at Texican Tattler smokes a couple briskets, he really smokes them! The fire department wanted to take them as "evidence"... Must have been lunch time.

Rorschach at Red Ink: Texas worked as an election judge last Tuesday and relates about some of the voters who came in. I worked as an election counter in my own town here for the 2000 Gore-Bush election. We still use paper ballots that you check-off with a pencil. Even in an intelligent and small town such as Fairlee, we had a couple folks who would check-off EVERY candidate or NONE of them. You wouldn't think it was that hard to work a pencil and paper...

By the way, there are several posts below with ongoing discussions so jump right into them.

Your comments are welcome. You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that.
