Moonbat Also Opposed to SF Gun Ban

Hey, you take your support where you can find it! From the SF Bay View Voter Guide:

...Last, let me explain why I’m recommending that you vote No on Prop H, the handgun ban. On most issues, I agree with its sponsor, Supervisor Chris Daly, but we part company this time.

On page 96 of your official voter pamphlet, Supervisor Daly says that Prop H "limits handgun possession to those who protect us," meaning mainly police officers, and suggests that Prop H would have prevented the 56 handgun homicides that occurred in San Francisco last year.

Everyone I know prays and works fervently to stop the killings that plague the Black community, but nobody I know trusts the "Boys in Blue" to protect us. Just weeks ago, the police repeatedly shot an unarmed youngster, Tyrelle Taylor, 18, in the back as he ran for his life – and survived, thank God.

Thirty-nine years ago, in September 1966, after police shot and killed a fleeing 16-year-old, this community rose up and, for a time, stopped the SFPD from entering Hunters Point Hill. That uprising was put down with National Guard tanks on Third Street, more ominous than the picture of martial law in New Orleans on this week’s front page.

Then as now, the Black community’s demand – and the way to stop the killings – is economic justice. Get the boot off our neck, the boot of big developers pushing Blacks and poor people all the way out of San Francisco, and the boot of their protectors, the police.

Regardless of the city's liberal persuasion, if those in the Black community and the police themselves (see previous post) are against the handgun ban, I wonder if the measure is really the slam-dunk it's backers think it is...

Note: Read the whole thing for my reference to the writer being a "moonbat".

Even the SF Chronicle recommends a "NO" vote.

Your comments are welcome. You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that.
