Around Town...

Time for my Saturday morning stroll...

Countertop Chronicles is still interrupting his sabatical to point out a rare pro-hunting story in the NY Times. Maybe now that Fox Butterfield isn't around, the Times is lightening up on guns?

Texican Tattler shows how his neighborhood greets potential looters. Looks like my kind of crowd!

Irons in the Fire gives a list of books he thinks would make good movies. I certainly agree with him about Fritz Leiber's Fafhrd and Grey Mouser series. I even had a cat once named Gray Mouser in honor of the character.

Lana at Live From the Gillotine applied for her Texas carry permit and shows that the family that shoots together, qualifies together. Congratulations all around.

I never realized that the PC set among women was angry when a man "wolf whistles" at them. In fact, I would have thought it a compliment. Hi, I'm Black reports that it's now against the law in - parts - of - the - world.

The Queen of All Evil doesn't think much of all the leftist posturing over Bill Bennett's remarks. Neither do I.

Over at Cowboy Blob's, something really weird. The explanation is in this post.

As InstaPundit says, "exactly". Geek With A .45 agrees. I also don't "register" for comments.

The latest Carnival of Cordite is up!

Incidentally, Techno Gypsy will be hosting the next Carnival of the Vanities on October 5th so get your entries in.

I've occasionally been asked why I never submit anything to the carnivals. It's mostly that I'm lazy and just forget -- nothing personal since it is certainly a way to attract new readers. Also, I get sheepish about submitting things...

the comment input form disappears.

Your comments are welcome. You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that.
