September 15, 2005Kids Do the Right ThingOver at Free Republic, some kids do the right thing when when they find a gun. Good for them. Someone taught them safe gun handling, probably their parents. Comments
'Someone taught them safe gun handling, probably their parents.' I'm sure thay did, and thank god they did, but if there were less guns around it would be less likly that kids would find themselves in positions of danger like this????????? Sure, but that line of thinking can be applied to any object/activity, whether it's guns, knives, cars, pools, ladders, chemicals, toys, drugs, skydiving, and so on. The solution is to teach people how to properly handle themselves when they're in that situation. Keeping them ignorant only makes them worse off. Almost seven times as many kids (0-17) will accidentally die of drowning compared to being shot (1,158 to 167) in the US, for 2002. Posted by: Eric Salem at September 15, 2005 03:29 PMI goofed. That age range is actually supposed to be 0-19, not 0-17. Posted by: Eric Salem at September 15, 2005 03:30 PMthe comment input form disappears. Your comments are welcome. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that. By Golly, you're reading an archived post.
