One Question For Roberts

I've been listening to the confirmation hearings for Judge Roberts. The Republicans toss mostly "comfy cushions" at him and the Democrats froth at the mouth. In one case, D-Sen. Joseph Biden spent about 10 minutes yakking away before even asking a single question, then he wouldn't allow Roberts to finish a single answer because he was "almost out of time".

I would love to hear just one of them ask Roberts, "Judge, do you believe that -- as does the First Amendment and most of the others -- do you believe that the Second Amendment refers to an individual right?"

There, that wouldn't be asking about a specific case, just a general question about the Bill of Rights that would tell me A LOT about whether I want him on the bench or not.

Update 4:40 PM: Fair is fair. Alabama Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions is -- in my 1st Amendment protected opinion -- the stupidest person I've ever listened too. This asshole couldn't proof-read fucking M&M's. What mutants elected this feeble-brained earthworm to the Senate?

Update 6:39 PM: Piece of shit Schumer keeps harping on the commerce clause and how an article doesn't have to cross state lines to "qualify" as something that should be regulated by government under the interstate commerce clause. Folks, this could cover guns, medical marijuana, and everything else in our lives. Thank God Roberts refuses to give piece of shit Schumer the answer he wants to extract.

Ya' know what? Let's have a quick and vulgar poll: Your answers in the comments. Who's the biggest turd? Chuck Schumer or Ted "the lifeguard" Kennedy?

I'd have to say Teddy... if only because he's been around longer. He's had time to, ahem, marinate.

Kennedy; have you SEEN any pictures of that bastard lately?

Oh, you mean metaphorically. I'm not sure, they both suck so much they'd steal the air from a jet engine.

Jeff, I'd take issue with just one eeensy weeensy part of your proposed question to Judge Roberts:

Instead of "believe that" it should be "agree that".

Belief is for the Communion of Saints, the Resurrection of the Body, the Life Everlasting, Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. The Second Amendment is real, it has been seen by many unbiased observers. Its authors are on record about what they intended with it. It undoubtedly exists. No belief involved. Entertain no argument over its existence. Assert and defend fiercely what it means.

As for "biggest turd" it's Kennedy, as proved here. But Schumer/Schaumberg comprises far nastier strains of E coli.

They're both turds. But Ted's a real floater.

Somehow it'd be fitting and extremely laughable should someone nail him dead-center with an evil ninteenth century assault harpoon.

Kennedy is a fool. Everyone knows it. Schumer, on the other hand, is taken seriously by many people. He is, thus, FAR more dangerous than the occasionally coherent Kennedy: Schumer is the threat..

Kennedy is a huge, but old and dried up turd

Schumer is a fresh slimy one, and therefore the nastier one.

Schumer is the moonbats version of Santorum. I wonder if there is something unpleasant we can name after Schumer, as others have done with Santorums name?

Kennedy is the lefts version of Strom Thurmond, in more ways than one. With the amount of 'preservative' he consumes, he'll be around a long time, even if they have to pop some sungalsses on him and wheel him around like Bernie. He won't smell any worse, I suspect.

Kennedy

Schumer is at least a decent person one on one and would actually have a pleasant conversation with you. Kennedy has no redeming qualities.

The Evel Knievel of Chappaquiddick, if only on the strength of his Lifetime Achievment Award.

And the answer is...

Yes...

Posted by: Kirk at September 14, 2005 06:27 PM

Yup, "Ted's a real floater," I'll second that.

Posted by: ben at September 14, 2005 06:54 PM

Well, Senator Schumer hasn't killed anybody, directly at least, so I would have to say that gives Senator Kennedy the slight lead.

Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that.
