August 14, 2005Durango, CO a "Gun Town"Durango, Colorado sounds like my kind of town. Interesting story from the Durango Herald:
There was only one negative comment in the whole thing. I think everyone around La Plata County should buy and support the Durango Herald and patronize the advertisers. I wish the local newspapers around here would publish similar pieces. Posted by Jeff Soyer at August 14, 2005 09:05 AM Comments
Come on Jeff, doesn't that picture make you question your sexual orientation? Okay, I just did a thought experiment, and nope, a photo of guys with guns wouldn't make me question mine, so never mind. I live in a blue state but a red county, where even Democrats own guns. The divide between the "Two Americas" is not health care or Social Security reform or the war in Iraq, it's more basic and goes to questions of self reliance and individual responsibility and a citizen's relationship with his government. Posted by: Steve Skubinna at August 14, 2005 08:31 PMWell, that girl Krii is... Oh, never mind. Posted by: Jeff Soyer at August 14, 2005 09:05 PMI like how Grandma has the wheelgun and the rest all have semi-autos. Lets me know which generation I fit in with... ;) Posted by: Jay G at August 15, 2005 08:33 AMDurango is a fine town. I usually take a road trip out there with my buddies once or twice a year. I wish I could live there, but real estate prices in the region are outrageous. BTW, if you ever visit Durango, there's a nice gunshop right downtown. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that. By Golly, you're reading an archived post.
