July 18, 2005NRA Cancels ColumbusFrom a press release on the NRA site:
Good. Bad ordinances and laws by over-zealous cities SHOULD have consequences and there's no better way to show that than in the pocketbook. No word yet on where they'll move the convention but might I offer the suggestion of Vermont? The one state in this country that has always fully supported gun rights without limits, permits, and licenses? Burlington could handle a convention of this size and the scenery can't be beat. Vermont would be VERY nice... I could actually attend! Posted by: Jay G at July 19, 2005 09:42 AMGood for the NRA to stand up and actually be counted. Posted by: robert at July 19, 2005 11:05 AMActually, I've since done a bit of research and found that Burlington couldn't even begin to handle a convention the size of the NRA's. Heck, 60 thousand attendees is 50% larger than the entire population of the city! Posted by: Jeff Soyer at July 19, 2005 08:26 PMthe comment input form disappears. Your comments are welcome. You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that. By Golly, you're reading an archived post.
