June 23, 2005Gun or Gang Problem?Short on details but long on spin, WLWT TV (OH) reports:
Since no one was arrested and no guns recovered (yet) and the incident only happened nine hours ago, it's hard to figure how the reporter would know that these mutants were using so-called "assault rifles" "spraying" "armor-piercing bullets"! Three loaded phrases all within one sentence. From the description at the end of the piece, it's obvious that this was a gang war, yet there's no mention of that. IN FACT, they're simply called "groups". You know, just a bunch of folks loitering around the streets of Cincinnati who suddenly opened-fire on each other. Guns were used, to be sure, but wouldn't the journalist have been more accurate putting the focus of his story on the street-gangs perpetrating this violence? This ugly incident was a gang-control problem. Comments
Another reason I don't like to go to our downtown... Yea hum gang warefare.... everything that happens downtown here is being related to gangsta types.. so the city can get more federal money, afterall the riots from a couple years ago we still havent recovered, there is not much night life or shopping in our downtown area left... Joe in Cincy Thanks goodnes I can walk with my ccw, even carried durring our pride parade.... But the clubs I would go to are located downtown, recently attended a city fest called tatse of cincinnati, only to come back to my truck to find a window smashed, and things riffled... 250 bucks for a window, truck full of tools, ammo, 5 dollars in coins in the ashtray, laptop, etc...only thing missing was a damn 15 dollar cell headset an a garth brooks limited edition CD... damn crack heads... I was one of 200 victims that weekend, oh did i forget to mention the truck was parked 7 spaces from a corner where a officer was working.... Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that. By Golly, you're reading an archived post.
