Oh, It's the Timing...

From Crosswalk.com:

On the sixth anniversary of the Columbine High School massacre in Colorado that left 15 people dead, gun control activists Wednesday criticized a U.S. House bill that would protect licensed gun dealers who sell the weapons that end up being used in the commission of crimes.

The "Protection in Lawful Commerce of Arms Act" would protect gun dealers from lawsuits because, according to the text of the bill, dealers "should not be liable for the harm caused by those who criminally or unlawfully misuse firearm products or ammunition products that function as designed and intended."

Michael Barnes, president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, called the bill "bad public policy" and said "the timing is exceptionally bad taste."

Tom Mauser, the father of Daniel Mauser, who was one of those killed when two students opened fire at Columbine High School in 1999, said the bill would "[take] away the rights of gun violence victims" and criticized the timing of the bill, which was scheduled for the House Judiciary Committee docket on Wednesday, the anniversary of the shooting.

Since by now everyone knows that this bill DOES allow civil suits to go forward if there was negligence on the part of a gun maker or dealer, the Brady Bunch is now reduced to complaining that the timing was wrong. Oh please, you could find some historical event to point to for any bill ever introduced to gripe about.

The gun control crowd has become a joke and (to use one of their own favorite expressions) they are out of touch with the average american.

April 20 was Adolf Hitler's birthday, and as we all know, the Nazis were ruthless practitioners of modern gun control. Why would the Brady Bunch select such a day to further their gun grab? And why are they trying to hide it with the moralistic pose about Columbine?

Your comments are welcome. You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that.
