February 25, 2005Pro-2A Side Wins College DebateA debate about gun control was held by students at the University of Chicago. The Republicans were against it and the Democrats were in favor of it (big shock there) and apparently our side won. From The Maroon:
Read the whole thing because many of the arguments on both sides are given. Reading them, it's obvious that the college Republicans were well prepared. As for the Democrats trying to argue:

The Maroon is a pretty obscure source. Did you by chance spend some time in Hyde Park? I did. Go Maroons. Posted by: Zendo Deb at February 25, 2005 08:24 PMFortunately for us, the Dems don't take the old adage "know your enemy" seriously enough. They'd have to study up on guns, and that might turn a few of 'em to our side. They can't have that now, can they? This is fine with me... it makes arguing wit them simpler. Posted by: ben at February 25, 2005 11:03 PMDuring the election, the gun-banners were scarcely to be seen. Instead, we saw the politicians of their preferred political party hunting in photo-ops and talking about how they respected the Second Amendment. Now, we once again see open attacks on the Second Amendment. Posted by: Steven Malcolm Anderson at February 26, 2005 01:48 PMthe comment input form disappears. Your comments are welcome. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that. By Golly, you're reading an archived post.
