October 24, 2004Meeting of Blog MindsIt was a beautiful day yesterday with plenty of sun, high in the fifties, and I spent a very pleasant part of it meeting with a couple of bloggers at the handsome campus of Vermont Technical College in Randolph, VT.
On the left is Cathy Resmer who is a reporter for Seven Days and has the blog Amaryllis. On the right is Jessamyn of the blog Librarian.net. We discussed all sorts of blog, or just computer and IT related things -- as us computer-huggers (heh) are wont to do -- and I certainly enjoyed the good conversation and the chance to meet a couple fellow Vermont bloggers. Jessamyn really knows her "geeky" stuff and I learned a lot from her. I also found it intriguing that almost everyone in her family has their own blog, or at least their own web site so everyone in the family can be up to date on what the others are doing. Cathy has expressed an interest in heading to the rifle range and I look forward to cultivating her interest in the shooting sports. My thanks to both of them for the invite. I do wish more Vermont bloggers had attended but maybe next time... It would be nice if we in the Green Mountain State had a loose association of sites as many do in other states or regions. There should be one for New England, too, as Jay had a similar idea awhile back. Posted by Jeff Soyer at October 24, 2004 11:26 AM Comments
Appreciate your report concerning the VT Bloggercon 04' as well as the photo's Jeff. Thank you. Happy 2nd Blogiversary! Posted by: mwb at October 25, 2004 07:30 PMthe comment input form disappears. Your comments are welcome. You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that. By Golly, you're reading an archived post.
