2nd Blogiversary!

guncake.jpg

It's hard to believe but Alphecca is two-years-young today. Actually, considering the long hours I've spent in front of this computer prattling away, mostly about gun rights and media bias, maybe it isn't...

The very first post I put up was about Hillary Clinton and that first week also featured the very first (and remarkably brief) "Weekly Check on the Bias" report.

This weekend also marks another milestone, this one for me: On Sunday I will actually -- celebrate isn't the right word -- turn 50. Yipes! I still feel like a kid. Some of you probably think I still write like one, too!

Anyway, Happy Birthday to Alphecca and er, me!

Update: Thanks to all of you for your well-wishes. I am actually rather proud of Alphecca. I'll never be one of the "supernovas" as one emailer put it but the fact that over 11 thousand folks visit here each week is rather humbling (and scary!) and I promise to try even harder to think and write well in the future in defense of gun rights and Second Amendment issues. And cats. Which reminds me, don't forget that I have another blog, Tarazet, for pet lovers' enjoyment.

oh yeah, your an old man now - you'll have to start blogging about wheelchairs and walkers now - LOL.

Anyway, Happy Birthday and Blogiversary!

The late Rodney Dangerfield had two funny routines about getting old, the first being that people start talking about you even when you're in the room with them.

The second: I put my shirt on this morning and a button fell off. I picked-up my briefcase and the handle fell off. I'm afraid to go to the bathroom!

Speaking of which, where's that nurse?

Congratulations, man!

My older brother also turns 50 this year! It seems weird to have a sibling who is "old." Except 50 is so not old anymore. It simply means you probably only have another 30 - 50 years left to do all the things you wanna do.

And that's not accounting for the upcoming life extension singularity that we may not be too old to catch.

But I digress. Happy blogiversary! This means you started 4 months and a day before I did, and were already a relatively "big name" in that four months.

Happy Birthday as well as Blogiversary Jeff!

I'm just a hemi-decade behind. Happy Birthday! We'll be looking forward to all the posts denouncing the AARP for their support of the antigunners, you know, 'cause you'll have the card.

Jeff, you're the greatest! A very happy birthday to you, Blogfather!

But you're just a kid; I'm a full three months older than you are.

As to "being" fifty, well, you're entering your fifty-first year, and since you said you were forty nine when you entered your fiftieth year, why compound the error by carrying it forward? You're fully justified in rectifying this error by carrying it backward, and staying forty nine!

Do the new math yourself! As long as you feel good, you've got the right answer!

:)

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday, Dear Alphecca,
Happy Birthday to you!

And many more.

And to Jeff Soyer, the creator of Alphecca, gay gun nut and cat lover of Vermont, defender of freedom, I can only say: Thank you for a great blog!

Congratulations, Jeff! Alphecca's one of my favorite stops each week - thanks for the media roundups.

Oh, and 50's not TOO bad. Of course, I'm facing 53 in a month or so .... now how did THAT happen?

Anyway, have a great birthday and keep up the great blogging.

PS: the dogs say you're okay even if you do hang around cats. We can't all be perfect!

Yay! Happy Birthday!

Meant to post earlier, Happy B-Day and Happy Blogiversary!

A very late Happy Blogiversary, and Happy Birthday too! You can always convert your age to hexidecimal -- so you just turned 32.

Your comments are welcome. You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that.
