September 24, 2004In The NewsVia Drudge comes two stories that just seem so silly. First, the Material Girl visited Israel. Now, she has no plans to visit Egypt but the clueless of that country pouted anyway:
Once again, Islam makes a juvenile mockery of itself, as if it is the religion of 13-year-old role-playing gamers. Islam seems intent on insuring that all of its slaves should be kept in a state of poverty, ignorance, and fear. I'm sorry folks but the fanatics of Islam are the only ones calling the shots and speaking out. I would LOVE to hear these radicals and terrorists denounced by the more moderate Muslems but either I've gone deaf or they just aren't speaking up. And no, I'm not equating the "banning of Madonna" with the terrorism and murderous bombings that have become a staple of the "religion of peace" but it's just another example of the arrested adolescent mentality of the fanatics of this once innovative religion. It's time for Islam to grow up. The only way that will happen is if the ordinary progressive (or at least moderate) adherents make their voices heard and their actions felt. Otherwise, they (the radicals) will just continue to foment scorn and hatred against the religion and that will probably feed the inadequacy and paranoia that fuels their rage and causes them to further retreat into their sick, twisted version of some dungeons-and-dragons game of terrorism. The other story is of the petulant pouf Elton John, who apparently thinks that being a star means never having to pose for a picture in public. From Reuters:
Ohhhh... Poor little Eltie Weltie. He's made a hundred million dollars as a music star but unlike other celebrities who graciously stop for the paparazzi who help keep their hyper-inflated egos in the news and newspapers, he decided that no press should be allowed to photograph him as he enters their country to suck millions of dollars from the pockets of his fans there. Hey Eltie, if you want a career on the stage in front of the footlights, then smile when you're noticed by the press and public. Smile, and say, "thank you! Thank you very much!" And while you're at it, give thanks to God that anyone still gives a fuck about a tired has-been like you. Most budding musicians and actors and actresses would give their right arm to be met by a lightning-storm of camera flashes at an airport. What a jerk.

I have had it with the "Religion of Peace". Keep waiting for those "moderate Muslims" to show up and denounce their tyranny. You might as well wait for a "moderate" Communist or a "moderate" Nazi to do the same thing. Yes, I am a Politically Incorrect Western Imperialist Zionist Warmonger -- proudly. Posted by: Steven Malcolm Anderson at September 24, 2004 09:53 PMWhoa, Jeff, I'm in agreement, but ease off on the role-playing gamers. A lot of them are on your side. :) Posted by: Noah Doyle at September 24, 2004 11:50 PMInnovative? Did you just say Innovative? What's so innovative about beheadings? Sorry, I meant that the Islamic fanatics are treating their actions as if they are no more than a game, or have no more repercussions on the hatred being cultivated TOWARDS THEM. They seem to act as if the rest of the world is just going to continue to sit by while they attack. Now they've got Russia pissed off at them, not just the US and Britain and Australia. At one time, Rich, (and yes, it was a hell of a long time ago) Arabs and Islam led the world in astronomy and even medicine. (In case you wondered why so many star names are in Arabic.) The mutant strain of Islam that now dominates the headlines is a far cry from what the people and religion were in centuries past. And I was trying to be nice... Posted by: Jeff Soyer at September 25, 2004 12:55 PMI was of a similar opinion once as well but, unfortunately, it seems that the whole notion of Islam 'leading the world' in science and mathematics is a wee bit of revisionist history. Have a look at this and then tell me what you think. And I was trying to be nice...
actually, what I oppose most about Islam is precisely that it _is_ innovative, i.e., radical. Muhammad, like Akhenaton before him, rejected the Gods and Goddesses of his ancestors and replaced them with his One God (Allah), and then proceeded to force his religion on others through political means. In this, he was very much like Calvin, like Cromwell, like Robespierre, like Lenin, and other similar revolutionaries. If the Arabian, Persian, Egyptian, etc., peoples had held to their own ancient Deities instead of converting to Islam, both they and we would all have been far better off. Today, with the fall of Communism, more and more alienated Leftist intellectuals in the West are converting to Islam. I oppose Islam. I am a reactionary -- proudly. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that. By Golly, you're reading an archived post.
