August 08, 2004No Weekly ReportThings are slow... Nothing new on Yahoo and not much of interest elsewhere. That's how it is during the summer. Every other week is probably best until things heat up in September when the AWB expires (we hope.) In the meantime, I just bought the first season of M*A*S*H on dvd -- the early years when it wasn't too preachy, had Henry Blake, people drank and smoked (cigars) and was funny. I'll be watching that and taking it easy... Comments
Yeah, those early MASH episodes are my favorite, too. Less preaching, more real comedy. You can really see Groucho Marx's influence on Alan Alda's humor back then. Frank: "You disgust me!" I like the old comedies. If I had lots of money (and the series were available) I'd scoff-up the Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore shows too. Now I'll reveal how bizarre my tastes really are: When I got my DVD player last winter, the first things I bought was the first seasons of The Simpsons and Green Acres. Go ahead, you may all shun me for a few minutes... Posted by: Jeff Soyer at August 9, 2004 10:50 AMthe comment input form disappears. Your comments are welcome. You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that. By Golly, you're reading an archived post.
