August 08, 2004N.E. Mini-Blog BashSo what do you get when you combine a lovely New England summer day with a house on Lake Winnipesaukee, terrific hosts, good food and great guests? I had a wonderful time yesterday at the New England Mini-Blog Bash hosted by Chan and Deb of Weekend Pundit in Laconia, N.H.
That's a shot of the setting. I took a lot of photos so if you have a speedy internet connection and want to see what some of your favorite bloggers look like -- then hit the "continue reading" link... The temperature was in the seventies, partly cloudy, light breeze. The company was superb. Chan and Deb really worked hard to make everyone feel at home and they prepared plenty of great food.
I live in the middle of "no-where" of course and almost never have the chance to meet other bloggers so it was a genuine pleasure to meet some of the following fine folks -- all of whom are now in my blogroll.
I must tell you that while I loved meeting everybody, it was extra-special meeting MommaBear and PoppaBear. MommaBear has been a dear friend and supporter in many ways to Alphecca almost from the very beginning of this blog. That's one reason I wanted a picture of us together. I regret that I didn't get a snap of PoppaBear. There were many other fine folks there as well, friends and family of the Weekend Pundit family. Unfortunately, I also neglected to get a picture of Chan's brother John. Sorry about that. I also rue that I had my picture taken with Tom, the news editor from World Net Daily but the bright sun in the background ruined the picture. Everyone there was very friendly and I had a wonderful time. My thanks again to Chan and Deb for throwing this shindig and I'm already looking forward to the next one. Update: More photos of the Blog-Bash over at Accidental Verbosity. And in the comments there, Jay is trying to find me a date! I need all the help I can get... It would be a lot easier if I lived in NYC or San Francisco but then I couldn't be a "gun-nut" anymore. Comments
Nice pictures! And one of the better ones I have seen ever taken of me. Usually the cameras break... Posted by: Jay Solo at August 8, 2004 12:49 PMThat's why I put Jillian in the picture, too. It keeps the camera intact. Posted by: Geoffrey at August 8, 2004 02:34 PMNice-looking people. I like the way you look. What a MAN! Both you and Eric Scheie look great. Posted by: Steven Malcolm anderson at August 8, 2004 03:08 PMGreat pictures. Sorry I couldn't make it...but on the bright side we did win the volleyball tournament that kept me away =). Posted by: Tom at August 9, 2004 12:07 PMHi Jeff! It was a pleasure to have met you last weekend. Thanks for the great photos. Glad you made it! Keep in touch. You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that. By Golly, you're reading an archived post.
