July 06, 2004Kerry and EdwardsI suppose I should say a few words about presidential candidate John Kerry's selection (much to the chagrin of the New York Post) of ambulance-chasing, wreck the economy, to hell with personal responsibility trial lawyer John Edwards... Which I guess tells you how I feel. Not that I would ever vote for an anti-Bill of Rights, anti-sovereign nation ultra-liberal like Kerry anyway. Not that I want anything bad to happen to anyone, but if Kerry were elected, and something did happen to him, Edwards would be president. Kerry has shown just how shallow and frivolous he is with his first major decision. He chose someone with almost (only two years) no experience in politics. Does anyone really think Edwards could step into the oval office tomorrow and take over our nation's fight against the mutant islamic terrorists who seek our destruction? Not that I agree with him on much, but at least Gephardt would bring the knowledge of how things are done in Washington. But I guess Kerry thought Edwards was "cuter" and would appeal to women voters -- a slap at the intelligence of women, I think. And if you need any further proof that Edwards was a bad choice, consider that he was the first choice of Senator Ted Kennedy! By the way, if Kerry/Edwards are elected, you can kiss any hope of litigation reform goodbye. That includes shielding the firearms industry from lawsuits by victims of the criminal misuse of guns. I've made it clear that I don't like Bush. But hell will have to freeze over ten times before I pull a lever for Kerry/Edwards. Comments
I'm a left-of-center type. Damn, what was Kerry thinking? Well, as to that, you put it so well. I may have to sit this election out. I can't vote for either, and would a write-in really matter? Posted by: Michael Janavel at July 6, 2004 07:38 PMArgh, you have dozens of choices! Not just two! But I thought the real issue in this election was hair! Posted by: Eric Scheie at July 7, 2004 05:57 PMWell like most things in life nothing is perfect, but not voting solves no problems, & if you don't vote you can't bitch! In 2000 I voted for the guy who got more votes, this time I will vote for Kerry/Edwards, not because I agree with everything they say or do. But because the alternitive is damn scary! Another 4 years of BUSH! As far as exprience goes whoever gets the job, they have 100's of advisors to help make decisions, Idon't think Bush could decide what shirt to wear if sombody didn't lay it out for him. He also less exprience then Kerry when he TOOK office just being Gov of Texas, Kerry has been involved in national & world politics for years. It comes down to choices, & also thinking were you better off 4 years ago? We were. Posted by: Ed, From upstate NY at August 8, 2004 10:26 AMthe comment input form disappears.
