June 05, 2004Michael BadnarikThe Libertarian Party candidate for president, Michael Badnarik will be interviewed during the first hour tonight on Coast to Coast AM. I understand he's not the most media-savvy of people but it will be interesting to hear what he has to say during an indepth interview. I've made my own thoughts known -- I'm not committed to any candidate but just as a vote for Nader could be one less for Kerry, so too a vote for Badnarik could cause a loss for Bush. In a perfect world, we'd have a batch of Good, Thoughtful, Moderate candidates to choose from. This election shows we're quite distant from that paradise... Comments
I'm becoming more and more convinced that our voting system is out of date. There are better mechanisms than simple majority/plurality voting: http://bcn.boulder.co.us/government/approvalvote/altvote.html This gives a pretty good summary of alternative voting systems. Thanks for the pointer to Badnarik, I'll have to give him a look. Posted by: Brian St. Pierre at June 6, 2004 07:24 PMthe comment input form disappears. Your comments are welcome. You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that. By Golly, you're reading an archived post.
