May 23, 2004Like Falling Off A Bike...Last month when Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry fell off his bike in Concord, Massachusetts, I don't recall President Bush making fun of the incident. Yesterday, Bush took a spill:
Fine. That's how the press reports it. But according to Matt Drudge that's not all Kerry said. Right before that, in front of cameras, he said, "Did the training wheels fall off?" I think it's interesting that the press, which mostly supports Kerry, isn't reporting this remark. As for Kerry's mocking comment about Bush's accident, I guess that really shows the difference between the left and the right. Must be that "nuance" thing. Comments
One thing these reports are missing is their respective recoveries after their spills. Bush got back on his bike and rode home. Kerry climbed into the escort vehicle and was driven home. Posted by: Brian St. Pierre at May 24, 2004 09:05 AMI remember reading, on Eric Scheie's Classical Values, that Kerry yelled at his escort after his fall. Off the subject, but just to let you know: Up With Beauty is still up, but I haven't been able to post anything to it since I got back. It's on my brother's computer (he's the genius), and we haven't yet been able to figure out why the FTP program can't log in. As soon as we get that fixed... You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that. By Golly, you're reading an archived post.
