Million Moms and the Brady Bunch Lie!

CNSnews.com has a great report on the lies being spread by the so-called Million Moms March (in conjunction with the Brady Bunch) with their new "halt the assault" tour:

The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence (which is now affiliated with the Million Mom March) says on its website that "Uzi and AK-47 assault weapons" -- are "coming this summer to your neighborhood courtesy of George W. Bush unless you do something about it."

That's not true, said Canale.

AK-47s and Uzis were prohibited in 1989 under federal firearm importation law, five years before the enactment of the Clinton gun ban. "The expiration of the Clinton gun ban will not in any way affect this previous law," Canale said in a press release.

He said the Million Moms' pink RV tour is more about politics than it is about sound policy, and he said, "the gun ban lobby, including the Brady Campaign, is lying."

"What works is locking up violent criminals, not taking away the rights of law abiding citizens," Canale said. He offered the following list of "facts" about semi-automatic firearms -- "that the gun ban lobby does not tell the public":

-- Firearms branded as "assault weapons" have been used in no more than 1.2 percent of violent crime, according to police reports and surveys. Even a congressional study found that semi-automatics "were never used in more than a modest fraction of all gun murders."

Read the whole thing. See, here's the thing, folks: The gun grabbers don't have any statistics supporting them. John R Lott, Jr. has shown that conclusively with his books More Guns, Less Crime and The Bias Against Guns. So has Dave Kopel in innumerable articles.

Secondly, like all leftist liberal groups, the ineffectual Million Moms and the Brady Bunch must rely on lies, innuendo, and scare tactics. "Let's sue or scare our ideas into legislation." That seems to be their mantra. As this CNS.com article points out, the whole phony "assault weapons ban" is based on cosmetics. There is NO difference in the way semi-automatic rifles fire, whether they are classified as "an assault weapon" or as a "hunting rifle." It's all a lie. One type doesn't "spray" bullets any faster than another. The trigger must be pulled each time the user wishes to fire. One isn't "faster" than the other. To claim that one type of gun is "meant to be held at hip height" while another is not is just nonsense and has NO bearing on the functioning of the firearm.

And isn't that the real lie they are telling us? They've managed to (until now) ban a few firearms. It has not affected crime one whit. And so now Dianne Feinstein and Chuck Schumer want to expand their phony list. And one day, that list will include ALL GUNS. That is their ultimate goal.

Meanwhile, fake, phony fraud John Kerry keeps claiming that he supports the Second Amendment because he's hunted all his life. What bull. The Second Amendment is about the right to bear arms for defense, of country, state, and self. There is nothing about, nor does it imply, that hunting is the objective that ammendment exists to protect.

God help us all. Don't buy their lies. Liberals, leftists, their whole game plan is a pack of LIES.

Well, yes. Of course they lie. That is the way that all of the historically great scams have worked. Tell the yokels big lies so they will give you money. If they give you enough money, you never actually have to work for a living.

Before the flood of books advising how to "Survive the Y2K Crisis" by closeting canned food and bottled water, the best previous example of massive scam was the Flat Earth Society. Which, it seems to me, disappeared about the time that HCI ramped up.

HCI et.al. will not be defeated until the mass of public realize that they have been scammed. While truth depended on conventional reportage, there wasn't much of a chance. (Although I still think that the NRA should have bought the Dallas Times Herald when it died. Would have given a marvelous base for honest reporting.) But now maybe blogs can carry the fight forward. I hope so.

By the way, thanks for your efforts.

My big concern is that the everyday American never hears the truth. Blogs like this one help get the word out there, but we need some mass media help. Otherwise it seems like we will drown in a sea of lies.

Million Mao Moms and Brandy Bunch lie,
and fish swim and birds fly.

When the gun-banners finally tell the truth, _that_ will be the big headline. But I'm not holding my breath until it happens.

Your comments are welcome. You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that.
