Around Town...

Jay Manifold is pessimistic about the future of amateur (and model) rocketry. He writes about the recent launch of a high-altitude probe by private citizens. He also mentions the plight that I and Rocket Jones have brought up in the past -- having model rocket motors regulated or prohibited by the BATF.

Serenity's Journal has a new look as she ditches MT and moves to pMachine software. There seems to be a lot of unhappiness going around about MT becoming an expensive upgrade. Deb at Accidental Verbosity isn't planning to upgrade. Me, I'll stick with V2.661 or go back to my own "software" if I decide comments aren't working... Anyway, Serenity has also discovered Nazi Barbie!

Blogo Slovo mentions an interesting History Channel piece about Russian firearms. Dave likes the Mosin-Nagant and we all like the AK-47. To bad I don't have cable...

Glenn at Hi. I'm Black! has opinions about everything including Britney Spears and J-Lo. And much more. Always one of the most animated (and downright hilarious) bloggers around...

Lastly, but NEVER leastly, my dear (and only declared) blogson Eric Scheie has his usual plethora of great posts up including his take on the rapid change in public opinion about gay rights and marriage. He also takes on the anti-Bush, conspiracy crowd.

So there's some good reading for you while I'm hobbled. Actually, just pick out anyone in my blogroll for more.

Do what he says, but with one exception. Up With Beauty is is on Jeff's blogroll, but I haven't been able to post anything there since I got back on the Net. It's on my brother's computer, not on mine (he's the genius), and the FTP program I use can't log on to it for some reason. I'll let you know when I've got something up there.

Note: Comments close down on posts after seven days and then
the comment input form disappears.

Your comments are welcome. You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that.
