May 16, 2004Thanks!I did remove my "spammers should die" post because it was, well, ranty and over-the-top, even for me... The GREAT news is that Michael Demmons (who used to run the excellent and unfortunately no longer around blog Discount Blogger) went into my systems yesterday and installed MT Blacklist for both here and at Tarazet. That should cut down on a big percentage of the comment spams. Let me extend a big THANK YOU to him. Comments

You don't need to enter a URL and you don't need a "valid" email address, either. Note though that MT Blacklist is installed to flag suspiciously spam-like strings. Unfortunately, because of the bastard spammers, the strings "google.com" and "yahoo.com" (even in your email address) are currently banned as well. So are strings such as "cialis" (a common spam) which rules out words such as "socialism". Try putting a hyphan in a word like that. By Golly, you're reading an archived post.
