Facebook may announce company policy changes for gun-related pages in the coming weeks, VentureBeat has learned.
The social network has been under pressure from the powerful Mayors Against Illegal Guns and the Moms Demand Action civic group to ban gun-themed fan pages on the site.
I understand the intention is to prevent firearm sales taking place, but if Facebook decides that the way to do that is to simply ban all such pages depicting guns or supporting 2nd Amendment rights, then they are censoring a constitutional (and natural) right. Well, Facebook is a corporation that can do as they like. Me? I’ve thought about dropping my page there, anyway. I don’t have time for or interest in Facebook or other social media. I have my own website (this one) where I call all the shots and own the content. What do I need Zuckerberg and his rules and regulations for?
