This isn’t about something that country singer Toby Keith said or did. A new restaurant in Virginia is named, “Toby Keith’s I Love this Bar and Grill.” Well, Keith has nothing to do with this bar/restaurant as far as I know. In any event, the new restaurant owners are not welcoming legally carrying gun owners:

The restaurant named for country music star Toby Keith has posted a ” No guns permitted” sign on its front door and gun rights supporters are blasting the restrictions on the chain’s Facebook page. Some comments accuse Keith, who doesn’t own the restaurant, of being anti-gun.

Actually, Toby Keith does support gun rights as I detail in a post from a couple of years ago. The link to the Boston Herald story no longer works, but here’s what he said in 2011:

“I’m all about good people, licensed and trained, carrying a concealed weapon,” Keith said. “The bad guys are always gonna be carrying guns. There are so many guns in the U.S., and so many bad people that do harm with ’em. If just 1 percent of the non-felons would go get their concealed-weapons license and carry a gun where they can, 1 percent puts you in a pretty good position of being somebody that could save a bunch of people’s lives.

In my opinion, this new eatery has some ’splaining’ to do.

Update: There seems to be some confusion over whether Keith owns the restaurant or not. WTOP radio (the link about the restaurant) says that he has nothing to do with it. Now, Fox News says that he does own it. Which is it? And, if Keith IS involved, then he has some ’splaining’ to do, too.
