I don’t know what it is, or how it happens, that some poor souls go nuts. I suspect that often, drugs are involved. In any case, I feel sorry for the ‘perp’ in this story, Jeremy Jarnell Anderson, who went, well, nuts. Somehow, he came up with the best excuse for it. Cops responded to a violent persons report:
When officers got to the apartment, they said they found Anderson, whose face and hands were covered in blood, screaming random things on the front porch.
[ . . . ]
The police report states Anderson started to throw glass objects and furniture from the apartment through the door and broken windows.
[ . . . ]
Authorities used a sledge hammer to get into the house and found the walls and floor were covered in blood, bleach and other “substances.”
A small fire was burning near the stove which quickly filled the house with smoke.
Officers said they were finally able to subdue Anderson with tazers during a smoke-blinded scuffle inside the apartment; he was immediately taken to the hospital.
At the hospital, officers said Anderson told them he had not done anything wrong, that he was just remodeling his house.
. . . And I feel guilty or weird for eating peanut butter from the jar with a spoon.
We can all be grateful that Mr. Anderson’s psychosis was directed at himself instead of others, although — granted — his starting a fire to ‘burn the Bible’ could have destroyed the apartment building, and would have hurt others.
In any event, I’m in a charitable mood at this moment, and so I hope that he gets the help he desperately needs. I don’t have experience with demons of any sexual persuasion. The few bad dreams I have generally have to do with the bad decisions I’ve made in my long life, and I suspect they are presented to me by my ‘id’ as instructional lessons.
Still, that last paragraph, where he says that he was just “remodeling” is priceless.
May God help and cure him.
