Thirteen people, including a three-year-old boy, were injured Thursday night when gunmen opened fire on people in a park on Chicago’s South Side. The incident took place shortly after 10 p.m. in the city’s Back of the Yards neighborhood.
According to a witness, dreadlocked men in a gray sedan opened fire from their vehicle before turning toward Cornell Square Park and continuing to shoot at random people in the park.

Earlier in the evening, six other people were shot in separate incidents across the city — one fatally — bringing the total shot during the night to 19.
According to the article, police believe the park shooting was “gang related.” Ya’ think?
And, I don’t care how “universal” you make background checks, nothing is going to stop this shit until political leaders realize that the problem isn’t with law abiding citizens owning guns. Alas, it’s politically incorrect to address the real problems, at least on the left — and they’re the ones that have been running the Chicago Machine for, well, pretty much forever.
Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson weren’t available for comment.
