I haven’t had a chance to read it yet but I’m betting it’s as good as his others in the Western Front series. The Nine of the North is available for Kindle. You can read the first few chapters for free on Archer’s web site.

For the next couple of days, Archer has also dropped the prices on several of his Kindle books to just 99-cents.

I heartily recommend The Western Front which was the first of the series. You can read my review of it here. You won’t find a more entertaining, action packed read for just a buck and this one is also recommended as an introduction to the entire series.

From my review:

Fueled by crushing economic times and unemployment, as well as a malevolent, violent, (Occupy Wall Street type) political organization, there are riots and food lines in major cities and urban areas throughout the United States.

Texas, nearly abandoned by the Federal Government for insisting on their state’s rights, has become a further battleground as drug cartels from Mexico have pushed the border northward a hundred miles.

Relying on their own wits, moral courage, and faith in God, a group of well-defined characters struggle to survive amidst the chaos.

Now, “truth in advertising” time: I read and reviewed The Western Front prior to becoming friends with Archer, the author. Since then, I have become involved in editing a couple of his works, including — currently — The Western Front itself, which I should finish doing in a couple of weeks. I just want to be upfront about that, but - again - my review was made long before I became involved in the project.

Along that line, I did edit (or re-edit) Kratocracy which is the next book in the series. I loved the book but was hesitant to put up a review of it because, well, conflict of interest and all that. However, I think that I will, this weekend, along with the disclaimer, because Kratocracy deserves wider notice.

Archer is also offering several other of his books for 99-cents. Check out his blog post here.

Okay, end of my shameless plug post.
