California Bill Would Require Gun Liability Insurance
Another pot of spaghetti thrown at the wall of control:
AB 231 would require anyone who owns a gun in California to buy special liability insurance. That covers damage or injuries caused by your gun. At face value, that could sound reasonable, but another California law gets in the way.
“It claims to be a public safety law. But, in California like in many other states, you can’t insure intentional acts. So, if someone intentionally shoots someone else, this insurance cannot cover that situation,” said local attorney Thomas Brill.
If they can’t confiscate them, they’ll make it really expensive to own one.

If experience holds, then, it will soon be a no-fault policy, where you have to insure yourself against being shot. And it will be mandatory, with a fine if you don’t buy, with a subsidy for those who can’t afford it.
Could actuarial tables be based on age, race, and gender, like life and car insurance? What would be the rate on somebody who just needs shootin? Mr President, what about the dro-o-o-ones?
How soon does SCOTUS decree it’s really a tax?
