CO: Weld County Thumbs Nose at Obama on Guns
Following the lead of several states passing laws or resolutions refusing to enforce any new federal gun control laws, one Colorado county follows suit:
“The purpose of this resolution today was, No. 1, in support of our sheriff,” said Weld County Commissioner Sean Conway, referring to Weld County Sheriff John Cooke, who said several weeks ago that he would not enforce President Barack Obama’s gun control mandates.
“But more importantly, (the resolution was passed) to say that Weld County is going to stand behind the Constitution,” Conway said.
Meanwhile, state representatives in Colorado ARE debating new gun control laws.

Jeff,
Yeppers - we got it pretty bad over this way.
but Rocky Mountain Gun Owners is doing what they can, & currently we’s gots 7 pro gun bills versus their 5 proposed (though one of ours died in committee yesterday).
One of the pro gun bills is a prohibition on any new federal gun control laws being enforced. Little chance of it passing, but when ambushed the best thing to do is attack.
In any case it’ll be interesting here after July (which is when most new laws will take effect, one way or the other).
