It should be noted that the op-ed in the NY Daily News is NOT by the editors there but by a Republican state legislator. But it makes a lot of sense:

. . . And so, predictably, in his haste to win political headlines, the governor has delivered a mess to New Yorkers.

The law contains such basic flaws that it technically makes it illegal for police officers to carry their weapons into public schools. Cuomo might wave this off as something easily fixed, but the error is of a piece with a law riddled with bad ideas and faulty logic.

Read the whole thing. The author, Rep. Kieran Lalor, isn’t (I suspect) a 2-A absolutist by any definition but does make the case that rushed, knee-jerk legislation is bad legislation and winds up hurting citizens the most.

And (with reference to my previous post this morning) isn’t that why Obamacare turned out to be such a disaster? Thousands of pages and all Nancy Pelosi could argue is that “We have to pass it to know what’s in it?”

That is what will happen with federal gun control laws if Obama and the Dems in Washington D.C. get their way, again.
