A Connecticut Democrat, Rep. Rosa DeLauro, has introduced a bill that would give a tax credit to filers who surrender so-called “assault weapons” to authorities. From Breitbart:
Section 25E of the bill reads: In the case of an individual who surrenders a specified assault weapon to the United States or a State or local government (or political subdivision thereof) as part of a Federal, State, or local public safety program to reduce the number of privately owned weapons, on the election of the taxpayer there shall be allowed as a credit against the tax imposed by this chapter an amount equal to $2,000.”
Say Rosa, honey? Just as the criminal element of our society isn’t going to turn-in their guns voluntarily or involuntarily, it’s not likely they’re filing federal income tax forms, either.
By the way, the name of this bill: “Support Assault Firearms Elimination and Reduction for our Streets Act.” She must not have had her coffee yet when she wrote it because she forgot to tack-on, “For the Children” at the end.
