Calls for Obama to Ban FN Herstal Five-SeveN
It’s not clear (but we can guess) who is issuing this press release:
In a letter sent today to the White House, America’s six national gun violence prevention (GVP) organizations — the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, Violence Policy Center, Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, Freedom States Alliance, Legal Community Against Violence, and States United to Prevent Gun Violence - -as well as 21 state and regional GVP groups strongly urged President Barack Obama to use his executive powers to ban the import into the U.S. of the FN Herstal Five-seveN armor-piercing semiautomatic pistol. [See http://www.vpc.org/obamaletter.pdf for a copy of the letter.] A Five-seveN was used in the Fort Hood attack earlier this month that left 13 dead and 34 wounded. The Belgian-made weapon, widely available on the U.S. civilian market, is also a favorite of Mexican Drug Trafficking Organizations (DTOs), who refer to it as the “mata policia,” or “cop killer.”
It must be the gun. Or, the ammo. Or, gun laws in Texas. It must be anything but the actions of a mutant Muslim terrorist.

F.Y.I. Four of those six “groups” are shell organizations wholly funded by The Joyce Foundation where Obama sat on the board of directors for six years. Check this url:

Uh, didn’t his psychiatrist note a year or more ago that he was psychopathic? Isn’t there a federal law that mentally unstable individuals must be reported to the FBI so that they can be denied the ability to purchase a weapon? Wasn’t Hassan spewing a bunch of islamic hate and justifying terrorism and contacting known terrorists? yes he was. People who spout support for terrorism and contact terrorist are ALSO supposed to be on a DHS watch list and denied a firearms purchase.
Was such a report issued? No it was not.
Was the weapon purchased illegally? No it was not.
Was Major Hassan able to pass a Federal Firearms NCIS check? Yes he was.
It was not the gun at fault, it was the feds that failed to act in time to prevent this.

Looks like the thin end of a wedge to me
The little 5.7mm round has only a little more oomph than a .22 winchester rim fire mag pistol (also suprisingly effective at penetrating kevlar).
If that thing gets banned as a “cop killer” there will be a lot of far more meaty handgun and rifle rounds to follow it, .357 mag, .30Tok/mauser .38 super, .32 H&R mag to list just a few.
If only Kimball had done a little more development work before he marketed his .30 carbine and .22 hornet semi auto pistols, We could have had such pea shooters as long established (and deafening) little camping pistols by now.

Not about limiting gun violence. It’s about taking any advantage they can of every act of violence to gain control of the rest of us. Thus making us helpless in the face of their ambitions to victimize us themselves.
These organizations are nothing more than criminal gangs wannabes, awaiting only the guarantee of no resistance.

The radical anti-gun groups time would be better spent trying to encourage tougher laws on heinous crimes against society. No bail for serious offences for example. Join a gang that is known for violence and instant prison sentence.
These anti-gun nuts would rather waste there time trying to make honest people deffenseless. We’ll be deffending ourselves with sticks, spears and knives while the criminal points a gun in our faces to rob our homes or hurt our families.
Sad world we live in…. sigh
