How did I miss this bad news last week?
The Obama administration will insist on measures to give legal status to an estimated 12 million illegal
Democratsimmigrants as it pushes early next year for legislation to overhaul the immigration system, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said on Friday. In her first major speech on the overhaul, Ms. Napolitano dispelled any suggestion that the administration — with health care, energy and other major issues crowding its agenda — would postpone the most contentious piece of immigration legislation until after midterm elections next November.
Naturally they want this done before the next election. With ACORN and other criminal organizations losing their funding, the Democrats are going to need those 30 million “12 million” illegals voting for them. Let’s hear it for “same day voter registration.” Oh, and we’ll file suit if laws are passed requiring some sort of I.D. when we go to register/vote.
How do you like it — so far?
Actually though, I don’t think Obama and the lefty Democrats (not all, just the loonie-leftists) have looked at the recent polls or they’d realize that if they keep trying to ram their one-world, UN rules, socialist agenda down our throats, in 2010 they are going to get stomped like narcs at a biker rally.

Actually, I don’t they really care about the poll numbers. They think know what’s best for us Plebeians, so they’re going to do what they think they must in order to take care on the “little people”.
Have you guys seen how Chris Muir over at Day-by-Day depicts The One and his cronies? He depicts them as French aristocrats prior to the French Revolution. It’s great! They call The One “Your Obaminess”, them there’s the “Contessa Pelosi”. Good stuff!

Actually, I suspect that their “game plan” is to pass as much of these socialist grabs that they can.
They know the ramifications of losing their majority edge next year.
Doesn’t matter to them.
Because if there is a shift (meaning more of us conservatives) there will not be enough of them in the US Senate nor the House.
Even if we could “switch off” these current bills/legislation, they would throw up so many roadblocks and lawsuits to choke up the system such that nothing would/could change.
That’s the pessimist in me talking for the moment.
Tomorrow the optimist takes over.

I suspect something different is going on. Thanks to all of the ordinary people (who are very unlike professional protesters) going out and protesting this administration’s attempts at imposing socialism on us they have turned tail and are scared. They still want to governmentalize health care, finance, and everything else but many Democrat politicians are looking at losing their sweet jobs in 2010.
While this may be a Hail Mary pass; I suspect that it’s just an attempt to appease their base and blame Republicans/talk radio/the internet/evil doers for stopping a non-starter. Unfortunately, with a filibuster proof majority in Congress and Obama as President that’s a pretty hard case to make. If liberal Democrats had principles that they truly believed they would have seized the day (e.g. there would be an all encompassing AWB) but they haven’t. They are pussies and as soon as a few people showed up to their phony “town halls” and asked questions they collapsed.
Not that this means we can’t be eternally vigilant but our enemies are hardly all powerful.

I Think Daniel is right, in part. They are trying to pass as much as possible because they expect to lose their majority. But the will have enough to prevent the undoing of much of what they have done. They key is how heavily they lose and how much spine the “republicans” grow. remember many of the “republicans” in congress are rinos and so are just democrat lite.

Love your simile: “…they are going to get stomped like narcs at a biker rally.” 8 points for artistry and a perfect 10 for visual image.

“…they are going to get stomped like narcs at a biker rally.”
Where have I heard that phrase before?

“Speaking at the Center for American Progress, a liberal policy group in Washington, Ms. Napolitano unveiled a double-barrel argument for a legalization program, saying it would enhance national security and, as the economy climbs out of recession, protect American workers from unfair competition from lower-paid, easily exploited illegal immigrants. ”
WHAT!?!
So by legalizing and forcing them into the minimum wage system they drive up prices or encourage more illegals in and that helps how?
How does granting citizenship to 12-50 million unknowns from who knows where enhance national security? Instead of foreign terrorists they now become domestic terrorists?
I guess I should address my questions to the center for (central) American progress a (redefined) liberal policy group.
