NY: Two Gun Show Operators Agree to Close “Loophole”
That shadowy gun show “loophole?” Two big time gun show promoters have voluntarily agreed to close it in New York. From the Wall Street Journal:
Two major gun show operators have agreed to a set of rules that go beyond state law to thwart illegal sales, Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced Thursday.
Niagara Frontier Collectors Inc. of Chautauqua County and NEACA Inc. in Saratoga County have agreed to tag guns brought to shows by private sellers to make it possible to monitor their sales and ensure that required criminal background checks are performed.
According to the article, they have also agreed to ‘monitor’ the parking lots to prevent private, individual-to-individual sales.
Seems like sort-of a cave to the gun control zealots in N.Y.

Since only dealers can do background checks, this will force all transfers to go thru dealers. Jack.

Monitor the parking lots? All they have to do is drive off and go behind a building.

The gun grabbers, look to have been successful in placing the onus of illegal guns, on these gun shows. As if criminals need them to buy their stolen guns. In the same way that every time high profile crime occurs, that gun prohibitionists, attempt to push nonsensical laws that have have no effect, other than to help disarm the populace. You can be rest assured this is only phase one.
